John, let me tell you a little bit about my son, Tony.
He is the son of two immigrant parents.
Tony’s dad and I always told him: ‘Keep your feet on the ground, but reach for the stars.’
But I never could have imagined just how high Tony would reach.
He was in the first generation of our family to graduate from college.
Then he became a teacher so he could help more kids like him.
He became a school board member and a State Senator.
And after my husband Antonio passed away from COVID-19 -- and Congressman Don Bacon voted against critical COVID relief -- Tony knew he had to run for Congress.
Tony has never backed down against the odds. It’s one of the reasons I’m so proud to be his mother. I know Tony can win his race for Congress, but I also know that he can’t win if attacks from his opponent go unanswered.
