September is National Suicide Prevention Month, beginning with National Suicide Prevention Week, which takes place September 4-10. Our theme for September this year is Together, Let’s Walk, as we encourage people in communities everywhere to join us in walking together toward a world without suicide, through the Out of the Darkness Walks.

By participating in an Out of the Darkness Walk, you’ll be stepping into a growing movement of people who walk for a loved one lost, people who walk in support of someone struggling, people who walk for themselves and people who walk to connect with others who understand. You’ll also be participating in our largest effort to raise funds that go directly to prevention education programs in local schools and workplaces; support for those who’ve lost loved ones; advocacy for critical mental health and suicide prevention legislation; and scientific research that helps us learn more how we can save more lives.

You can learn more about our September campaign, and all we have planned for the month – along with fun and inspiring ways to spread the word including social sharable graphics, how to find a Walk near you, personal blog stories and Walker interviews, information on how to support the new 988 number, and Audacy Out of the Darkness Radio. You’ll also find our Calendar of Events and key moments, which will be updated throughout the month, including:
