MUST READ: Stop Trump’s newest scheme

Friend,

The Trump administration has a sinister new plan:

  • They want to raise fees on DACA renewal applications, citizenship applications, and for the first time ever, charge a fee to apply for asylum.

  • Then they’ll transfer $112 million of the money raised with these fees to ICE!

Not only would this fee make it harder and possibly impossible for thousands to apply for protection, this immoral fee increase will make it easier for ICE to detain, deport and torture even more immigrants.

Right now, this is only a proposal. So, we still have a chance to stop this scheme. We need to drive as many comments as possible to USCIS demanding that they do not approve this harmful rule. But here’s the thing, we only have until Dec 30th to send as many comments as possible. So take a moment right now: Write in expressing how wrong you think this is during the public comments period!

SEND YOUR COMMENT

[We’ve made it super simple by creating sample comments that you can copy and paste on the website. But please if you can add a sentence to personalize your comment!]

Trump wants us to pay for more detention camps and deportations. If we don’t take action now, application and renewal fees that offer us protection will increase making it impossible for immigrants to apply. And to add more fuel to the fire, this proposed rule also plans on giving approximately $112 million dollars of these fee increases to ICE to fund more detention camps and deportations. And get this, Friend, it’d happened WITHOUT Congress’ consent for two years. This is not only wrong but completely immoral.

But like AOC said:

And we’re sure you aren’t either, Friend. Which is why we’re coming together and asking for your help in blasting out comments against this sinister rule.

Submit a comment in opposition of this proposed rule before December 30th.

Together, we can stop this immoral, racist money grab from becoming reality.

Let's do this,

Nestor and the rest of the UWD team
