** A Message from the President of the Board

Hello Red Deer-Mountain View!

Things have been quiet lately to let our team wind down after a very challenging election campaign. We have been attending to the accounting and book keeping of the election campaign. As you can imagine, the work of a campaign isn't over for everyone after election day!
But fret not! We are still here and have been making plans for the new year.

BIG NEWS!
The executive board members of both Red Deer-Mountain View and Red Deer-Lacombe PPC associations are in discussion to merge Electoral District Associations into one. This will give us a strong base of support and an even greater pool of talented individuals to fill the Executive Board of the EDA. Max Bernier encouraged our members himself when in Red Deer recently, and we are in agreement that this would create greater unity and greater strength.

If you were a volunteer during the election campaign, we thank you for working tirelessly, wearing you heart on your sleeve and putting your best foot forward, everywhere we went. We hope you will consider continued involvement as we move into the new year, and put new plans into motion. We want your experience, positive attitude and the skills you bring with you to help further message, movement and develop the direction of our local PPC efforts. Our Electoral District Association will continue to thrive with great people at the helm.

** Annual General Meeting

** We are planning an AGM for current PPC members, to participate in mid February and help form the next Executive Board of the merged Electoral District Association of Red Deer-Mountain View and Red Deer-Lacombe. This AGM will be to fill existing Executive Board roles and new areas ready for competent and passionate individuals. We will also be ratifying our local EDAs constitution and bylaws going forward. We ask all PPC members attend, as voting must be done in person only. There will be additional emails sent to members and subscribers in the New Year with the exact date and location, how voting will take place and updated lists of any members that have put their name in for consideration of a position. This way we can all get to know the fine people in our ranks that have put their names forward and make educated decisions. We'll also have a general schedule for the AGM itself send to members when it is ready.

Current Executive Board Roles up for election are:
* President
* Vice President
* Treasurer & Financial Officer
* Secretary
* Auditor
* Director: Promotions & Events
* Director: Fundraising
* Director: Marketing & Communications, including Social Media
* Director: Technical Administrator (technology, technical requirements, websites, accounts)
* Director: Volunteer Coordinator & Appreciation
* Director: Operations Administrator
* Director: Public Relations
* Director: Branding and Official Messaging

Non-Executive roles needed:
* Inventory & Physical Resources
* Transportation & Territory Coverage
* Phone Banks & Member Outreach
* Data Handling (entry, organization, database)

Note: non-executive board members will be selected by the newly elected board by executive vote only.

If you believe you can contribute and help the PPC grow with your professional and personal strengths, please contact us immediately. We will send you the necessary requirements and what information will be needed to officially put your name up for election. We will be accepting applications through to the first week of February.

* References
* Criminal record check
* Non-disclosure agreement
* Waiver / disclaimer of liability
* People's Party of Canada member in good standing for at least 6 months
* Demonstrated local volunteer participation if member less than 6 months
* No membership in other Federal political parties
