We got a good laugh out of Saturday Night Live’s Weekend update when they poked fun at the Democrats' efforts to impeach Trump during a presidential election cycle.
During the impeachment proceedings, Congressman Jerry Nadler had asked the Judiciary committee members how they would want to be remembered, to which Colin Jost from SNL joked that he can’t even remember Rep. Nalder himself, and he may be one of Rep. Nadler’s constituents!

In all seriousness, this is something we hear time and again as we knock on doors around the district. Many people in the community have no idea who Rep. Nadler is, and if they do, they don’t realize he’s their representative.

While SNL’s humorous political sketch helps to take the edge off a very serious situation, it is important to acknowledge the underlying truth that makes it funny. Although Rep. Nadler has developed a dedicated base in our district over his decades in office, there are many, many more people that have not met him, do not know what he stands for, and are eager for personal, dedicated leadership that aligns with the most pressing concerns of our district.
We need a dynamic representative who is active in our community and ready to deal with our problems head on, from local issues like housing and climate change all the way up through national issues like the importance of holding our government accountable.
I believe, without a doubt, that Lindsey is the representative we need. That’s why I am so committed to this campaign, and why I hope you’ll help us get Lindsey to D.C.
