*The Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) invites you to learn about and share your thoughts on the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program and Legal Assistance. *

OADS will hold a public listening session on *Thursday,* *September 15, at 2 PM EST* via Zoom. The listening session will contain two parts:

*Part 1 *will cover the Department?s Legal Assistance program and current rule, 10-149 C.M.R. Ch. 5, Section 64 [ [link removed] ]. Legal Assistance provides legal services to older adults to access long-term care options and other community-based services, as well as to protect older adults against challenges to their independence, choice and financial security.

*Part 2* will cover the Department?s State Long-Term Care Ombudsman program and the creation of a new rule. The State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program investigates complaints of rights violations received on behalf of individuals receiving long-term care services in the community or residential/institutional settings.

The agenda for both parts of the listening session is as follows:
