Pitt, UPMC, CMU, Highmark/AHN and Duquesne University pay around 11% of the county property taxes they'd owe if they weren't exempt. “Huge non-profits that bring in millions or even billions in revenue and occupy some of the most valuable real estate in our region must pay their fair share,” said County Controller Corey O’Connor. Paying the balance would mean an additional $34.5 million annually for Pittsburgh alone.
