Dear John,

I need your urgent help to take action for Reindeer!

Tarvin Sands Fishery in Wrexham, North Wales, currently run a reindeer hire business. They have now submitted an application to Wrexham Council to construct a Christmas Tree Farm and Reindeer Centre on another site.

We must take action NOW to stop these plans from going ahead. We do NOT need another reindeer farm in the UK. The deadline for objections is this Friday 2nd September.

The land they intend to use is far too small to house a large herd of reindeer. Reindeer are semi-wild and belong in the vast Arctic Tundra, not a small patch of land in Wales.

TAKE ACTION

The site plans also show an area clearly marked as a ‘maternity bay’, indicating the intent to breed reindeer for entertainment purposes. The use of reindeer for entertainment is an industry that needs to be winding down, not expanding.

Will you join us and take action for reindeer?

Please submit objections to this application to Wrexham Council before the end of the day on Friday, asking them to consider the ethical implications of allowing the land to be used for the breeding and display of reindeer for entertainment purposes.

You can email the planning department at Wrexham Council using our online form (link is below) or you can email the council directly at [email protected].

Sadly, animal welfare is not a consideration in the planning process. Whilst you can add your feelings about the suffering animals will endure, there are other points you can make regarding this planning proposal. Follow this link for more information: https://www.freedomforanimals.org.uk/wrexham-council

TAKE ACTION
Reindeer belong in the wild, not in a field in North Wales

We do not need to exploit animals for entertainment! Please take action for reindeer today.

I will keep you updated of any progress with this campaign. Thank you for your continued support and for taking a stand against animal cruelty.

For the animals,

Dr Andrew Kelly
