Simple words like âsorryâ were foreign to me when I came
to America.
We were
refugees from Communist Vietnam, and this new country was large and unfamiliar -
but I knew even as a kid that it was the land of opportunity.
I couldnât let the incredible second chance I got in
America go to waste. I studied day and night to learn English, and by the time I
was 18, I was enrolled in the Naval Academy.
Only in America could a little boy who didnât
know a word of English grow up to be an officer in the greatest fighting force in
the world.
I didnât get this far in life because of government
handouts or political correctness. I worked hard, I had faith, and I never doubted
that the American Dream was in reach - and that terrifies Nancy Pelosi.
Iâm not oppressed or in need of the governmentâs
help. Iâm an American just like you. And right now, Iâm fighting the radical Left
to keep that dream alive for generations to come.
