John --
It's the last day of the month, so you're probably being
bombarded with urgent pleas for political cash. That's not what this
email is about.
With the one year anniversary of the American withdrawal from
Afghanistan, I'm reminded of how helpless so many of us felt watching
thousands of our Afghan allies being left to the wolves.
And in that moment, my team and I decided there was
something we could do: mobilize the good, generous people of this
movement -- NOT to give more money TO Country First, but THROUGH
Country First to wonderful, small organizations working to evacuate
and resettle. We called this the Afghan Ally Relief Fund, and it's
been a huge success.
And then, when Russia brutally attacked Ukraine, our movement
mobilized again to support refugees, resettlement, and direct
assistance to armed forces on the front lines. We called this the
Stand with Ukraine Fund, and again, it's been a huge
success.
In total, our movement has raised and donated more than $300,000 to
worthy charitable causes. Country First has literally saved and
rebuilt lives while others just played politics. You've allowed us to
be different. Thank you!
And sure, you will still get emails from me asking you to directly
support the work of Country First (building a movement
isn't free), but I hope you know this has never been about the money.
It's been about the difference we can make together.
And on that note, every time I send an email, without fail, I
receive replies from people apologizing for not being able to give
more or even give at all. And I will tell you what I tell them: Even
if you never give a dollar, you will always have a home in
Country First. Moral support is rarer and more valuable to me than any
financial contribution could be.
So THANK YOU for being here, for the gifts you share with our
movement, and for the good we're doing in America and
the world. I couldn't do this without you -- and I wouldn't want
to.
Country First,
Adam
