Opportunities for States To Improve Infant Health Outcomes By Cristina Novoa Explore both new interactives on state-by-state infant health in the brief. The United States is experiencing an infant health crisis. But a jarring percentage of the country's infant health crisis disproportionately affects communities of color—especially Black and indigenous communities. Today the CAP Early Childhood Policy team released two new interactive tools designed to help advocates and policymakers understand where and for whom the crisis is most severe, and what states are doing to address these challenges: INTERACTIVE 1: Exploring Infant Health Outcomes Across Race and Ethnicity and by State INTERACTIVE 2: Opportunities for States To Improve Infant Health Outcomes Alongside the interactives, an accompanying issue brief summarizes trends and findings—pairing these data on health outcomes with information on state-level policy action. Lawmakers, program leaders, and advocates at all levels can and must thwart the current U.S. infant health crisis which disproportionately affects communities of color.
