Friends,
It has been quite an eventful summer for us here at Stand With Parkland, and we've been working hard to ensure that this coming school year will be happy, healthy, and safe around the country.
As part of our preparations for the back-to-school season, we are ecstatic about the passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act earlier this month, which is the biggest victory for our school safety movement since our inception!

This bill alone reached almost all of Stand With Parkland's federal advocacy goals for the 117th Congress and will make crucial improvements to the security of our schools, our mental health resources, and our laws around responsible firearm ownership.

Throughout the negotiation process for this bill, we were in D.C., meeting with senators from both sides of the aisle to advocate for our school safety goals. And it is through this uniquely inclusive, non-partisan approach that we did our part to help get this bill across the finish line.
We couldn't have gotten to where we are today without your contributions and support. The fight to keep our families and communities safe from firearm violence continues. Please consider sending in a donation today to help us keep this crucial work going >> [[link removed]]

It was a pleasure to attend the White House ceremony on the passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. Our founding families have lost so much, but we are dedicated to creating a better world in which no one else has to lose their loved ones like we did.

Sending children back to school after the summer break can be a stressful time: research from the National Threat Assessment Center shows that targeted attacks increase after extended absences.
standwithparkland.org/five-questions [standwithparkland.org/five-questions]To help you figure out where to start, Stand with Parkland has developed 5 Questions Every Family Should Ask as the School Year Begins. [[link removed]] We envision these questions to be a starting point for an extended conversation that families can have with their children's school officials, teachers, and administrators in order to understand the need for a safety plan. The answers you should expect will be sent to you, free of charge, when you check out our website StandwithParkland.org [[link removed]] .
Earlier this month, we were honored to meet with the United States of Education Miguel Cardona to discuss school safety in the upcoming year. The Stand with Parkland families brought nearly sixty years of teaching and school administration experience with them as they traveled to Washington, D.C. to discuss school and implementation of the recently-passed Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.

We deeply appreciate the Department of Education's work with SchoolSafety.gov and look forward to our continued work with them, especially on guidance for our nation’s schools on the valuable resources provided by the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act!

Although we have accomplished a lot, there is more to be done to prevent school attacks by focusing on the triad of school safety: Securing the campus, better mental health screening and support programs, and responsible firearms ownership. Most importantly, we will continue to advocate for pragmatic, bipartisan solutions to keep students and staff safe at school.
Please contribute today to help support our efforts! We have so much planned for the upcoming school year and beyond — but we need your help to make a continued impact on school safety. [[link removed]]
