Here's the truth:
The worst part about running a political campaign operation is the amount of money it takes to be successful.
But I also understand that if our movement is going to fight back against the corporate interests and their billions of dollars to organize for the policies we care about, it takes a lot of resources to compete.
I'm talking about fighting for a Green New Deal and climate justice when the fossil fuel lobby is hell-bent on stopping our momentum.
I'm talking about prescription drug price reform and Medicare for All, when Big Pharma and the huge insurance companies are making billions and billions in profits.
I'm talking about abolishing the filibuster and enacting our progressive agenda when the GOP and its right-wing super PACs will do and spend whatever it takes to keep the status quo as-is.
Now, I'm proud to say that our campaign is funded the right way — by lots and lots of grassroots donors chipping in what they can. I hope you're proud of that fact too.
But that means from time to time, I have to ask. And with our end-of-month fundraising deadline just hours away, today's one of those days:
Can I count on you to chip in $3 — or whatever amount makes the most sense to you — before midnight tonight? Anything you can give sends a powerful message about the strength of the movement we've built together. [[link removed]]

Corporate interests and beltway insiders are all hoping the momentum and enthusiasm behind our agenda will simply fade away with time. Tonight's deadline is our next chance to show them we're just getting started.
Thanks for chipping in before midnight if you can. Your support is what powers our movement.

Ed Markey
