Dear John,

It's hard to overstate how important next year is for our movement to end
gun violence. It's imperative for us to go into 2020 with unprecedented
strength and momentum. And I am asking for your help. [ [link removed] ]Please make a
generous year-end donation to Everytown and Moms Demand Action. Your gift
will make you a full partner in the difficult and hopeful work ahead.

I'll never forget the moment in August when news of the El Paso shooting
spread at our annual gathering of volunteers, student activists, and
survivors of gun violence. Gun violence activist and survivor Brenda Moss
electrified thousands of activists when she took the podium.

"Am I mad? Yes," she said. "Will I cry? Absolutely. Will I stop? No!"

Those words sum up a year of heartbreaking losses and inspiring wins. Once
again, tragic mass shootings and the American epidemic of gun violence
yielded nowhere near the action needed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch
McConnell. But it was also a year of triumphs. And we can win big in 2020,
but it all starts with you. [ [link removed] ]Please show your support for an end to gun
violence with a generous year-end gift today.

A wave of 2018 electoral victories produced a Gun Sense Majority in the
U.S. House of Representatives, and this year it passed the first major gun
safety legislation through the House chamber in 20 years. And just last
month, in Brenda Moss's home state of Virginia, we helped Gun Sense
Candidates take control of both houses of the state legislature. We passed
gun safety laws in 18 states and Washington D.C. — in red, blue and purple
states across the country we're making progress on gun safety. And for the
fifth year in a row, we stopped the NRA's priority bills over 90 percent
of the time in state legislature after state legislature.

Next year, we'll build on our victories to press for background checks on
all gun sales, strong red flag laws, measures to disarm domestic abusers,
and other critical gun safety reforms in Congress and in states across the
nation. We will fight in all 50 states. We will seek to elect a Gun Sense
Majority in the U.S. Senate and a Gun Sense President. We will grow our
grassroots muscle by recruiting and activating ever more volunteers. And
we won't stop.

Sincerely,

Matt McTighe
