John, we only have 7 hours left before our big End of Month deadline at midnight tonight — and right now we are less than $2,500 away!!!
We didn't pull our goal — $25,000 — out of thin air. That’s the amount we need to afford the tools we use to communicate with our movement, support as many DA races as we can this year, and be able to jump in at a moment’s notice to defend our DAs from police union and conservative mega-donors’ attacks
And if we don’t hit our goals, we’ll have to revisit our plans for the rest of the year to pick and choose which elections we can afford to get involved in and how much resources we can put toward defending our DAs.
So much of our work over the next few months will be focused on some really important DA races, including some of our local leaders who are running for re-election against strong Republican opponents in November.
If we don’t have the resources to defend those seats, those opponents will take every chance they get to prosecute abortion providers, criminalize marijuana, homelessness, and mental health crises, and send more Black and brown people to jail.
It will mean that doctors and other health care providers could also be sent to jail for LIFE for providing women with options for reproductive care.
2 of our these elections are in Texas, where abortion is outlawed and a trigger ban just went into effect that now attacks providers who can be fined $100,000 and receive life in jail.
This is not about politics. It’s about protecting people from life or death situations.
