So what does this all mean?
It means that the Indiana Senate seat is WINNABLE. Tom McDermott is essentially neck and neck with Todd Young. Political scientist Andy Downs, professor emeritus of the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics at Purdue University-Fort Wayne, is quoted as saying that Tom McDermott is “a proven vote getter. He can’t be ignored.”
This election is bigger than party lines—the issues on the line in 2022 are bi-partisan and reach across the aisle. Women’s reproductive rights, legalizing cannabis, equitable access to healthcare, increased support for our veterans, and so many other important issues are no longer divided down party lines.
Let’s be real: Todd Young is too extreme for Indiana. His voting record reflects a politician who is more loyal to special interests than to Hoosiers. After a long six years, Hoosiers have had enough of Young’s games and in just 69 days they will vote to unseat him.
