There are two classes available:

Discovering Spiritual Gifts
All participants in the Body of Christ depend on the spiritual gifts God has given them. Explore your gifts of the Holy Spirit and learn how to align with God's purpose to become a more joyful and effective Lay Servant. Fine tune your ministry based on the specific gifts God has blessed you with. These gifts provide the foundation for whatever ministry we do. Learn more about spiritual gifts, your specific spiritual gifts and how to discern them. Required reading: Rediscovering Our Spiritual Gifts by Charles V. Bryant. (ISBN: 0835806332) and complete the Spiritual Gifts survey at: [link removed] [link removed] Bring the printed results to the class. The class is led by Karensue Hensley, Southwest District Lay Leader. This course counts as an advanced class and as one of the CORE classes for the certified lay speakers. Open to Everyone.

Wesleyan Discipleship
What is a disciple and why is discipleship important to your church life? How does your church make disciples? This class will challenge your thinking about growing disciples and your personal discipleship path. Practical exercises and select videos will expose students to the Wesleyan methods of discipleship. Topics include means of grace, faith sharing, accountability, class meetings and Jesus’ teachings on discipleship. Mitch Ross, Director of Lay Servant Ministries, will facilitate the class. The required reading is Accountable Discipleship, Living In God’s Household by Steven Manskar. This course is an advanced class in the lay servant miniseries curriculum. Open to everyone.

REGISTRATION AND CLASS FEE ARE DUE BY September 16, 2022. CLASS FEE IS $10.

Many Grant Programs – Same Deadline: Oct 1st
The MOAC is blessed to have a wide variety of resources for ministry. Churches can apply through several different grant programs for funding that supports local ministry projects. Each program, however, has a different focus and requires a different application as follows:
New Places. The MOAC Center for Congregational Excellence is accepting grant applications from now until October 1. The first step is to fill out a worksheet and submit it to your District Superintendent. For more information and to get started on the worksheet: [link removed] New Places →

* The Calvin Institute of Christian Worship will fund 25 Vital Worship Grants projects to Worshiping Communities for 2022-2023 as part of its Vital Worship Grants Program. For more information:

* Costner-Fulton Mission Grants. The MOAC Mission, Service and Justice Team is offering grants for new, innovative, or one-time mission programs or events. Learn more and apply below:

* Missouri UM Foundation. The oldest and largest grant program in our conference, Foundation grants assist a wide variety of ministry projects each year. Learn more and apply below:
