Featured Funding Opportunities2023 Public Health AmeriCorpsPublic Health AmeriCorps will invest $400 million, over five years, from the American Rescue Plan Act workforce funding that will enable the recruitment, training, and development of a new generation of public health leaders who are ready to respond to the public health needs of the nation by providing public health service in communities.The deadline for applications to the 2023 AmeriCorps State and National Public Health AmeriCorps Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is Wednesday, January 4, 2023, by 5:00 pm. Grants for Small Museums ProgramThe Museums for America program supports museums of all sizes and disciplines in strategic, project-based efforts to serve the public through exhibitions, educational/interpretive programs, digital learning resources, professional development, community debate and dialogue, audience-focused studies, and/or collections management, curation, care, and conservation.The Inspire! Grants for Small Museums is a special initiative of the Museums for America program. There is no Cost Share Requirement for this program. Featured Grant Award$240K to City of Saratoga Springs Fire Department through FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grants ProgramYesterday, the City of Saratoga Springs Fire Department was awarded $240,140.90 in federal funding through the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program to replace self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and face pieces. SCBA are critical to providing firefighters with safe and clean air in hazardous environments. Small Business ResourcesState Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI)On August 19th, Governor Kathy Hochul announced New York State has been awarded $501.5 million in federal funds through the State Small Business Credit Initiative, which was reauthorized and expanded as part of the American Rescue Plan Act. Managed by the U.S. Department of Treasury, SSBCI provides funds to support programs for small businesses, with emphasis on those still struggling from the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and helping traditionally disadvantaged small businesses succeed in the post pandemic economy.Over the next 90 days, Empire State Development will be establishing additional program criteria and guidelines, with formal program-specific application processes announced in the Fall. New York Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC)The NYSBDC provides small business owners and entrepreneurs in New York with the highest quality, confidential business counseling, training, and business research at no cost.The Albany Small Business Development Center serves small businesses in the Capital Region. Bipartisan Infrastructure LawU.S. Department of TransportationThriving Communities ProgramDOT is establishing a Thriving Communities Initiative to provide technical assistance and capacity building resources to improve and foster thriving communities through transportation improvements.Eligible applicants include State, local, or Tribal governments, United States territories, metropolitan planning organizations, transit agencies, or other political subdivisions of state or local governments. Rural, tribal and other disadvantaged communities such as those facing persistent poverty, environmental justice, disproportionate rates of pollution or poor air quality, and historically disadvantaged communities are prioritized for assistance.DOT NavigatorThe DOT Navigator is a new resource to help communities understand the best ways to apply for grants, and to plan for and deliver transformative infrastructure projects and services. U.S. Department of EnergyEnergy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) ProgramThe Bipartisan Infrastructure Law appropriated $550 million to the EECBG Program. The purpose of the EECBG Program is to assist eligible local governments, states and territories, and Indian tribes in implementing strategies to: Reduce fossil fuel emissions.Reduce the total energy use of the eligible entities.Improve energy efficiency in the transportation, building, and other appropriate sectors.This program will be launching in the Fall.
