Dear John,
This holiday, I’ll be heading home to spend time with my family. Meanwhile, a transgender man named Chin Tsui is locked up in an immigration prison after surviving years of human trafficking.
I need your help to bring Chin home. We’ve set up a form for you to contact Sylvie Renda, a director at the ICE facility holding Chin. Just click here to take action. More about Chin’s story is below.
Chin is a trans man from Hong Kong currently detained in Texas. He is a survivor of human trafficking and has spent the last two years in immigration detention because his traffickers’ forced and coerced him into illegal activity that led to multiple criminal convictions and incarceration.
After being identified as a human trafficking victim by an expert, he met with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) who confirmed that he was a victim of trafficking and that his convictions are tied to trafficking. However, even after this identification, he was not released.
Transgender Law Center attorneys have submitted a request on December 12, 2019 for ICE to release Chin. He deserves to live and heal with his family. He should be in the warmth and love of a home.
Take action with us right now and share our campaign with the hashtag #BringChinHome. I know together we can secure his freedom.
In solidarity,
Lynly Egyes
