Dear John, The Lillian's List Foundation has hosted two Elect Women of Color Trainings specifically to train WOC to run for office. Research shows that women of color also face additional barriers when fundraising for their campaigns.  But we can all help address this disparity by investing in our women of color candidates.  Will you make an investment in their campaigns today. 

 

Lillian's List was founded with the intention of diversifying the NC State Legislature. We are proud to have helped elect almost every woman currently serving in the NCGA and our continued work to change the face of power. Our 2022 slate of Featured Candidates is our most diverse ever! We are excited to be a part of the political future of so many ambitious and powerful women.

 

However, women of color face barriers that white women do not encounter when they run for office.

Women of color also face more barriers when it comes to accessing reproductive healthcare than white women. These barriers are only made worse by abortion bans. North Carolina is the only access point for abortion in much of the Southeast because many of our neighbors have already enacted abortion bans. Investing in Lillian’s List Featured Candidates is investing in protecting legal abortion in North Carolina.
