John, I’m Mia Tretta, a 17 year old gun violence prevention advocate & survivor.
In 2019, I was at school when I was shot by a .45 caliber ghost gun. By a miracle I survived, but my best friend Dominic Blackwell didn’t. He was shot & killed while standing next to me.
My entire high school career has been scarred by gun violence. I tell you this not to make you sad, but to make you angry - I definitely am & I’ve turned this anger into activism.
My advocacy has brought me to speak in city halls, to community organizations, with California’s Governor & even with President Biden at the White House when he signed the federal ordinance banning ghost guns.
Now, I’ve joined Voters of Tomorrow and other Gen Z advocates to fight for all forms of social change.
I’ve seen the power Gen Z holds & the “other side” should be really scared. We’re in this fight TOGETHER & I’m here to tell you WE WILL WIN.
But to continue this fight, we still need support from grassroots donors like you. And with our End of August deadline TONIGHT, we’re just $4,628 short of our goal. So I’m asking: can you chip in $27 to get us to our goal and keep up our game changing efforts firing on all cylinders? >>
Thank you for your support,
Mia Tretta
