With so much at stake in the upcoming elections, our democracy can’t wait. We must seize this moment and mobilize all we can to ensure that red-tape voter ID laws don’t prevent eligible Americans from voting in the midterm elections this fall.
Millions of Americans are in need of assistance to obtain a valid ID right now, and millions more need help cutting through the confusion around the myriad of changing voter ID rules. I recently told the Arizona Mirror:
“Getting an ID can be really challenging, it can be time-consuming, it can be expensive, and it can keep lots of eligible voters from casting ballots in lots of circumstances.”
As we both know, we have our work cut out for us in the 70 days remaining before the 2022 midterm elections. That’s why I’m writing to you today.
