Dear John,
The Environmental Protection Agency is currently collecting public comments on their Proposed Determination which would create permanent protections for the watershed and people of Bristol Bay.
This is our chance to protect Bristol Bay for good. But we need you to act now. The comment period closes on September 6th, giving us less than a week to get as many signatures onto WWF's public comment. Will you add your name to our letter urging the EPA permanently protect Bristol Bay from the destructive Pebble Mine? [link removed]
WWF has long worked beside local and Indigenous communities to safeguard the Bristol Bay region, which is home to a wealth of fish and wildlife including the world's greatest wild salmon fishery, generating $2.2 billion annually, supporting 15,000 jobs, providing 57 percent of the world's sockeye salmon, and sustaining Indigenous communities.
But as we've informed the EPA, the Pebble Mine would change all that.
------------------
Dear Environmental Protection Agency,
The Pebble Mine Plan, will result in unacceptable, unmitigable
risks to Bristol Bay watersheds and their fisheries.
Additionally, adverse effects from accidents with mine tailings
are likely to persevere "in perpetuity" and cause profound ecological
harm for the entire area.
We urge the EPA to act as quickly as possible to prohibit the
Pebble Mine and permanently protect Bristol Bay's headwaters from such
mining, in order to ensure protection for the watershed and people of
Bristol Bay.
Sincerely,
John

We've successfully held off the Pebble Mine for a long time, but
this precious, unique ecosystem won't be safe until the mine is
stopped for good. Sign onto our public comment and tell the EPA to
prohibit all plans for the Pebble Mine and permanently protect Bristol
Bay's headwaters.
Sincerely,
Sara
