Nottingham City Council is holding an event facilitated by the University of Nottingham focussing upon housing in Nottingham and how it serves the city?s ethnic minority communities.

Citizens will be able to hear from national and local leaders in housing, discussing the positive contributions that a safe and good quality home can have on households and local communities. The event will also highlight the negative impacts that poor housing can have, especially where the effects of these are disproportionately felt by ethnic minority communities, for example issues of overcrowding and conditions of damp and mould.

This event is an opportunity for Nottingham's citizens to share their views and help shape the housing strategy for Nottingham around housing topics including:

  • Access to housing
  • Housing conditions
  • Housing for later in life and adaptations for disabled citizens

Key event details are as follows:

Date: ?????? Wednesday 14th September

Time: ?????? 09:30-14:00

Location:? University of Nottingham, Law & Social Science Building

Feedback and comments from the event will help to increase our understanding of the challenges faced by ethnic minority communities in Nottingham and help develop the city?s next Housing Strategy, which sets the vision for housing in the city, across all tenures. It will also help us in

identifying and prioritising interventions that can support the delivery of meaningful change, in partnership with key stakeholders and communities.

Please note that this is an in-person event and there will be no opportunity to join via electronic meeting means such as MS Teams, Zoom etc. Pre-registration is essential via the booking link above.
