John, there is nothing more anti-democratic than voters being forced to vote under maps that have already been deemed likely illegal gerrymanders by the courts.

But in Ohio, Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana, that’s exactly what’s happening:

NYT: "Maps in Four States Were Ruled Illegal Gerrymanders. They’re Being Used Anyway. A Supreme Court shift, frowning on changes close to elections, gives House Republicans a big advantage in November."

- In each of these states, Republicans passed blatantly gerrymandered maps that were struck down by courts.
- But then, instead of following court orders to submit new, fair maps, Republicans stalled. In some cases, they wasted time repeatedly resubmitting maps that were nearly identical to the original, rejected ones.
- Finally, after the GOP ran out the clock, the Trump Supreme Court (surprise, surprise) essentially rewarded this behavior by ruling that it’s now too close to the election to implement new maps!

Now, with mail-in and early voting starting in some states next month, millions of voters will be forced to cast their ballots in elections where they already know the deck is stacked.

Here’s how the NDRC is fighting back: We’re investing in target races across the country to hold gerrymandering politicians accountable and help elect Democracy Defenders who will protect the future of free and fair elections. This effort, and all of our work, is made possible by grassroots supporters like you.

Will you pitch in before our urgent end-of-month fundraising deadline to help the NDRC defend our democracy from Republicans who are determined to undermine it?
