Hey there, it’s Megan — Maura’s Finance Director.
Earlier today, our team shared a note from Maura explaining why you should chip in before tonight’s important fundraising deadline. A lot of you stepped up to help, but we’re still about $2,800 away from goal — and Maura just texted me to see where we’re at:
Maura: Hey Megan, sorry I missed your call, been in meetings. Will give you a ring when I get the chance. How is progress on the fundraising goal?
Megan: It's been going well, we've seen a real uptick in donations on the grassroots side as we've approached our end-of-month deadline. We're tracking about $2,800 behind our goal, but hopefully should close the gap tonight.
I would love to be able to tell Maura we’ve hit our goal and have the resources to power our statewide voter outreach plans. I can’t do this alone though.
I did some quick, back-of-the-napkin math: if we can get 200 more donations before midnight, we’ll pull this off AND I can give Maura the great news. So I’m personally asking: will you chip in $8 now? Your support goes a long way in winning this race and moving Massachusetts forward.

Thanks so much,
Megan
P.S. I’m including our team’s email from earlier today that shared Maura’s note, so you can see why this deadline is so important for us.

From: Team Healey
Today’s a really busy day for our team. Maura’s in and out of meetings, talking through her plans to take on rising costs, protect crucial rights, and build a Massachusetts that works for everyone.
Today also marks our End-of-Month fundraising deadline.
We’re still about $9,500 short of our goal and don’t have a ton of time left to catch up, so Maura typed up a quick note and asked that we share it with you:
3 reasons to donate:
1. We are ramping up our voter outreach, and we need your support to train volunteers, open field offices, and register voters.
2. I have a track record of winning statewide elections and delivering results for Massachusetts. I'm taking that experience and knowledge to our campaign for Governor.
3. We must report our fundraising progress EVERY MONTH, so it is critical we stay on pace.
Every grassroots donation made before midnight tonight adds up in a big way. This is our last End-Of-Month deadline before the general election begins, in just 7 days.
After that, we have a 63 day sprint until Election Day on November 8th, so we’re doubling down on our organizing plans. We’re training even more volunteers and organizers, because we’re not focusing on red areas or blue areas — we’re fighting for every vote, everywhere.
We’re also heading into the most important season for door-to-door organizing. Our volunteers need supplies, so we’re stocking up on yard signs, flyers to share with voters, even stickers and buttons so people can show off their Team Healey pride! The problem is, all of these resources come with a price tag.
Reaching our $9,500 goal doesn’t just cover these direct costs — it also allows us to build a grassroots movement that spans Massachusetts. Which is why we have to ask: will you chip in $5, or whatever you can afford, to hit our goal before midnight?
