With there being only two days left in August, my team is starting to receive the final batch of fundraising numbers. I need to be brutally honest here – they are not setting us up to win this election.

August has been an especially tough month for us. Our projections went sideways, fundraising lagged behind much of the month, and now we’re closing in on the final two months before Election Day.

And look, I want to be clear when I say that we’ve had tough months before. It happens on campaigns but now it’s up to us to do everything we can to dig ourselves out of this hole.
