It looks like some election extremists have been reading the same polls we have, friend.  

 

 
Sure, we’re glad that Blake Masters has learned his lesson, but when it comes to absolving Trump’s followers writ large, this is all too little too late.

The 147, the sitting members of Congress who played a direct role in inciting the January 6th Insurrection by challenging Biden’s victory, have made their beds, and now it’s time to face the consequences. Their decision to undermine democracy and support a treasonous insurrection cost lives and continues to shake our country’s civic institutions to their very core. Now some of them are seeing the political cost of their actions. They’re realizing that most Americans will never support someone who inflicted such damage on our democracy.

But Blake Masters and any member of The 147 who tries to scrub their insurrectionist past silently needs to learn this lesson:

Democracy is not something you support when it’s politically expedient. You defend it at all costs, regardless of who won or lost the last election. Americans have given their lives to protect our Constitution for centuries and will continue to do so for centuries to come.
