As of last week, Texas has some of the strictest laws against the right to an abortion. Texas’s so-called “trigger laws” went into effect last week—meaning it’s now a felony for a doctor to perform an abortion in Texas, even in the cases of rape or incest.

These laws are incredibly dangerous. In addition to obliterating abortion rights, they will lead to the criminalization of miscarriages and put pregnant patients’ health at risk. 

But we’re fighting back. Last week we helped launch the R.E.D Moon Project to Regain, Expand, and Decriminalize abortion rights in Texas. We’re organizing across Texas to pass local resolutions and policies protecting and expanding abortion rights.

Friend, since we launched one year ago, Ground Game Texas has worked at the grassroots level to put progressive change on the ballot. We’ve worked to increase local wages, create local policies on climate change, and decriminalize marijuana.

Now we’re partnering with the R.E.D. Moon Project to regain, expand and decriminalize abortion care at the local level. It won’t be easy.
