Texas State Senator Wendy Davis is a lawyer and Democratic Party politician from Fort Worth, Texas. She recently represented the 10th district in the Texas Senate from 2009 to 2015, and previously served on the Fort Worth City Council. Davis gained national attention when she held a thirteen-hour-long filibuster to block a measure which included restrictive abortion regulations for the state of Texas. In 2014, she ran for governor against then candidate Greg Abbott. In 2019, Davis ran for Texas's 21st congressional district, against Chip Roy.
Chairwoman Vicki Hiatt was a candidate in 2014 for the Kansas House of Representatives and District 10 of the Kansas State Senate and in 2016, narrowly losing in her second campaign. She has been involved in the Kansas Democratic Party for over 5 years. Previously serving as Vice-chair for two years, and now as the Chair for over three years.
