Dear John,
Labour’s done it again – after they campaigned in 2020
saying they’d introduce “no new taxes” – they want to introduce a tax
on your KiwiSaver savings.
This is a big one. The KiwiSaver tax would wipe $103 billion off
the value of New Zealanders' retirement savings.
Yes, you read that right. The tax will be levied on every KiwiSaver
fund. It is set to take $225 million in extra tax from hard working
Kiwis every single year, wiping thousands off the KiwiSaver funds
available to you in retirement.
We’ve launched a campaign to send Labour a clear message - stop the KiwiSaver tax. The Bill has only just
been tabled in Parliament so we have a chance to stop it. CLICK HERE to sign the petition and send the
government a message to take their greedy hands off your
KiwiSaver!
You can add this new KiwiSaver tax to the list of new taxes Labour
has introduced: the ute tax, the regional fuel tax, the tenant tax,
the jobs tax, and the increase in the top tax rate.
John, the simple truth is that Labour is utterly addicted to
spending. This government is obsessed with finding new ways to fleece
New Zealanders of their hard-earned cash.
The message I am increasingly hearing from Kiwis is that they have
had enough. They’re sick of policies like KiwiSpray – the cost of
living payment that has gone to foreign backpackers, overseas property
investors, wealthy London investment bankers, and even people who have
passed away.
They’re sick of failures like KiwiBuild, like ram raids being up
500% in the last five years, and a four fold increase in the number of
Kiwi kids living in cars.
New Zealanders deserve to keep more of their hard-earned money.
During this cost of living crisis, they deserve real tax relief, not
band-aid solutions like Labour is offering.
National will repeal Labour’s new taxes. And we’ll restore
discipline to government spending, and end the waste.
