It’s been less than 48 hours since we set our $50,000 grassroots goal to close out August, and I’m heartened to see so many of you chip in to help defeat Trump’s conspiracy theorist secretary of state candidates. Saving our democracy depends on people like you. 

But I have to be honest, because this is important — we’re still short of this new goal, and I’m starting to worry. Not hitting this budget target means scaling back on our plans. When you’re up against Donald Trump and the extreme candidates who’ll help him rig the next election, coming up short isn’t an option. 

We set this final August goal for a reason — because before we head into the final two months of the election, we need to secure enough resources to make a difference in these races. Please rush a donation right now to help close the gap and ensure we’ve got the tools necessary to prevent Trump’s cronies from taking power in battlegrounds across the country.

The 2020 election made it clear that our democracy was held together at the seams by secretaries of state who put country before party. They rejected Trump’s threats, and our fragile experiment remains intact because of it. 

But here’s the thing: Trump won’t make the same mistake again — that’s why he’s hand-picked these election deniers to run for election oversight offices. And what’s more, the MAGA machine has a PAC with more than $100 million cash on hand, ready to spend wherever and whenever Trump says the word.

I don’t know what will happen in the final weeks of these races, or how much money Trump will funnel into them.
