Earlier this summer, the Supreme Court delivered an ominous blow to birds, and directly threatened our ability to protect birds and the places we all need to survive. The decision limited the Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to issue regulations and respond to the threat of climate change.

In light of the Court’s ruling and in the midst of a code red bird emergency—with three billion birds lost in the last 50 years and two-in-three North American bird species at increasing risk of climate extinction—the work that Audubon does is needed more than ever.

For more than a century, our proven combination of rigorous science, committed advocacy, and expert on-the-ground conservation has helped provide a better future for countless birds and their habitats.

The recent Inflation Reduction Act is a prime example of the power of our movement: Thanks to the generous support of people like you, we pushed for this historic legislation to put us on track to reach our energy goals and help protect the places that birds need to survive. While this historic legislation addressed some of the most egregious aspects of the Supreme Court’s decision, the threat to the EPA’s ability to issue future regulations is still very real.
