There is no doubt that moderation and compromise are no longer on the GOP agenda.

First, conservative justices on the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, delivering a resounding wake-up call to each and every one of us. The Court also signaled its intent to question marriage equality, contraception, interracial marriages, privacy, and environmental protections!!

Then, Jahana and her Democratic colleagues moved quickly to protect the country from this extremism. They passed bills safeguarding the right to an abortion, protecting the right to contraception, and codifying same-sex marriage.

Now, the GOP is doubling down. Despite overwhelming support for these Democratic proposals, they have set an agenda of passing a nationwide abortion ban, dismantling Social Security, stripping millions of affordable healthcare coverage, and decimating the progress we’ve made on gun violence and climate change.
