Support reproductive freedom

Dear John,

What does it mean to have true reproductive freedom in your community?

There are a lot of ways to answer that question, but let’s start with this: ensuring that those who are pregnant receive the care they need to remain alive, healthy, and safe.

John, NIRH is proud to work with advocates across a number of cities and states to educate and build relationships with local policymakers as they work to serve the reproductive and maternal health needs of their communities.

Your gift today, in honor of NIRH’s partnership work to combat the unacceptably high rate of maternal mortality in the U.S., will have double the impact, thanks to the generosity of our matching-gift donor.

The U.S. has the highest rate of maternal mortality in the developed world, and Black women and women of color in our country, who face unique and systemic obstacles in accessing maternal health care, have the highest rates of all.

We are grateful to announce that, with your support, NIRH and our partners have been fighting back. This year, we worked to ensure the creation of official review boards to combat maternal mortality in New York State and City. In Georgia, which has the highest maternal mortality rate in the country, our Atlanta partners secured the creation of the city’s first ever Reproductive Justice Commission, which will make recommendations on how the city can improve maternal health outcomes.

John, once someone makes a decision about whether to have children, they should have the care and support they need, full stop. A gift today will automatically be matched by a generous long-time supporter, which means your support to combat maternal mortality will go twice as far.

Thank you, as always, for your support.

In solidarity,

Andrea Miller
