Dear Friend,
As 2019 comes to a close, we are proud to share some updates on USCRI's accomplishments.
This year we served many more unaccompanied migrant children and human trafficking survivors than in previous years and we helped thousands of refugees build new lives.
Over the past year, USCRI:
- Resettled 5,485 refugees from 32 countries, helping them settle in to work, home, and school in communities across the U.S.
- Ensured that 2,500 immigrant children had a safe place to live and access to school, medical care, and other resources.
- Provided 1,500 immigrants with critical legal services.
- Helped 9,200 refugees access medical and mental health care.
- Helped 1,100 survivors of human trafficking rebuild their lives.
- Provided 53 young adults in El Salvador with job training, education, and legal assistance.
- Opened a warm and welcoming shelter in Florida for unaccompanied migrant girls ages 13-17.
- Issued papers with federal policy recommendations on how to best serve trafficking survivors and unaccompanied immigrant children.
- Significantly increased our advocacy and policy-related efforts in response to a huge wave of anti-immigrant federal policies.
