The big day is upon us!
I would be honored if you would join me for my inauguration this Saturday, December 21st, at 10:30am. The ceremony will take place at the historic Bijou Theatre located at 803 S. Gay Street. I will be sworn in as Mayor, along with four new City Council members: Lynne Fugate, Janet Testerman, Amelia Parker, and Charles Thomas, and John R. Rosson Jr. will be sworn in as Municipal Court Judge.
The Bijou doors open at 9:30am with limited seating, so I encourage you to arrive early. Overflow seating with a live feed on screen will be at the East Tennessee Historical Society at 601 S. Gay Street. Following the inauguration you are invited to a reception at the East Tennessee Historical Society.
If you would like to watch from home, Community Television of Knoxville will be live streaming the ceremony on cable TV and on their website, www.ctvknox.org or you can watch the Inauguration from a different camera perspective on the City’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/CityofKnoxville. The City’s Communications staff will be tweeting photos as well as posting a photo gallery afterward.
