(San Diego, CA) – Brian Maryott was endorsed on Tuesday by the San Diego Deputy Sheriff’s Association, adding to Maryott’s growing list of law enforcement support. President David Leonhardi released the following statement:
“Brian Maryott is a true friend to law enforcement. He is committed to keeping our community safe, putting crime victims first, and putting criminals behind bars. Brian has our backs, and we’re proud to back him in his race for Congress."
Brian Maryott responded, "Thank you to the San Diego DSA for their ongoing support of our campaign. Their endorsement follows a trend of police organizations rejecting incumbents who, like Mike Levin, have not shown the same high regard for police officers or the enforcement of our laws. Instead, Levin has advocated for weakening police departments and even voted to give nearly $1 billion in stimulus checks to violent criminals serving time in prison. I am deeply grateful to the DSA for their endorsement. I will always be a strong advocate for law enforcement and I am proud to be Law Enforcement's Choice!"
The Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County is the professional labor organization of more than 2,500 sworn deputies of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. The Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County represents officers who live and work in many 49th District communities, including Vista, Encinitas, Solana Beach, and Del Mar.
This endorsement continues to show that Brian Maryott is “Law Enforcement’s Choice”. Maryott has previously been endorsed by the the San Diego Police Officers' Association, the National Association of Police Organizations, and the Oceanside Police Officers' Association.
