Dear educator,

Happy holidays from the education team at the National Constitution Center. Ring in 2020 with a New Year's resolution to participate in our exciting programs!

The Classroom Exchanges program pairs classrooms from across the country to discuss big, constitutional questions on the First Amendment. Participating teachers receive all of the planning materials beforehand, including lesson plans, resources on how to have a civil dialogue, and technology troubleshooting Upcoming dates are Friday, January 17, 2020; Thursday, January 30, 2020; Friday, February 14, 2020; and Wednesday, February 26, 2020. Register here for one, two, or all of the dates!

The Center is thrilled to host four Summer Teacher Institutes in July 2020. These weeklong professional development opportunities provide educators the chance to experience the museum and the surrounding historic district, learn from constitutional scholars from across the philosophical spectrum, and collaborate with their peers from around the country. Learn more about each week here. Applications close on Friday, December 20, 2019.

The education team offers additional professional development opportunities– both at your school and here at the Center. Workshops are tailored to fit your time requirements, topics of interest, and grade level. Every offering includes insight into the Center's educational initiatives, modeled lesson plans, and classroom ready resources to take back to your students. Interested educators can complete the survey here and a member of the education team will contact you to start the planning process.

We hope you have found our resources helpful, meaningful, and engaging in 2019. Thank you for all you do to share constitutional literacy and civil dialogue with your students.

With appreciation,
Your friends at the National Constitution Center
