The story of Watergate was not only the highest expression of journalism’s calling as a “first draft of history,” but this body of work has stood for generations as a historical record that journalists are essential to a working democracy.

🎉 Rana Cash, a graduate of the inaugural diversity leadership academy in 2016 ([link removed]) , just celebrated one year as the executive editor of the Charlotte Observer. She’s the first Black person to hold that position in the paper’s 136-year history.
