When I accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination for vice president two years ago this month, I spoke about a vision of our nation where all are welcome -- no matter what we look like, where we come from, or who we love.

It’s the vision that made my own life possible. The vision that makes the American promise -- for all its complexities and imperfections -- a promise worth fighting for. And it’s the vision that Democrats are working toward every day.

But with incredibly slim congressional majorities and exactly 70 days until the midterm elections, we must redouble our efforts and elect Democrats up and down the ballot to continue pursuing that promise.

All of the progress that we’ve made so far -- historic investments in our roads and bridges, lowering costs for workers and families, action on gun violence, and more -- was made possible thanks to the Democratic majorities that supporters like you helped elect.

But the simple truth is that if we don’t keep investing in the future success of our party now, we could risk losing our congressional majorities and threatening all of the progress we’ve made so far. So I’m asking:
