Tomorrow is International Overdose Awareness Day. As a supporter, you know that this country is experiencing its worst-ever overdose crisis. Every day, the criminalization and prohibition of drugs is driving this crisis by pushing people towards a dangerous, unregulated drug market.
The drug war is killing people and it has to stop—now.
You know that we urgently need a new approach to problematic drug use that prioritizes public health and safety over punishment. And there is no better way to support the lifesaving drug policy reforms we need than by supporting DPA with a monthly gift today.
Please respond before the midnight deadline. You will 12X your impact and provide the consistent support we need to fight year-round to end the overdose crisis and reduce the many harms caused by the war on drugs.

Dear Friend,
Time is running out to join the Drug Policy Alliance’s Reformers Club and have your monthly gifts matched, dollar-for-dollar, for the next 12 months!
In recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31, we’ve set a goal of gaining 50 new Reformers to help us address the nation’s deadly overdose crisis and sustain our vital work to advance sensible drug policies that protect people instead of punishing them.
A generous DPA supporter is offering to match all monthly gifts for an entire year, up to $10,000. But the deadline is midnight tomorrow, and time is running out for you to 12X your impact.
Friend, please become DPA's newest Reformer right now and support the fight to end the drug war year-round!

As a Reformer, your monthly gifts will go twice as far to support DPA’s advocacy for lifesaving interventions like overdose prevention centers, which are proven to reduce accidental overdoses and save lives. You’ll also help us push the Biden administration to protect overdose prevention centers from federal interference and call on Congress to fully fund harm reduction, overdose prevention, and syringe access programs.
Last year, more than 107,000 people died of an accidental drug overdose in the United States, the highest death toll ever recorded, and proof that drug prohibition is ineffective and is killing our loved ones.
A key priority for DPA is ending criminalization, which increases the risk of accidental overdose by forcing people into an unregulated drug supply contaminated with fentanyl. Building on our historic victory in Oregon, which became the first state to decriminalize drugs and significantly increase investments in health services, we are working to replicate that law in other places in addition to exploring safer supply and legal regulation of all drugs.
None of this work is possible without dedicated supporters like you, Friend. That’s why we are counting on you to help DPA meet our goal of gaining 50 new Reformers before this 12X matching gift opportunity ends at midnight tomorrow.
There has never been a better time to strengthen your commitment to ending the drug war. Your monthly support will save lives.
