When he's not tweeting insults at 16-year-old Greta Thunberg for her struggle to raise awareness of the climate emergency, he's turning over millions of acres of Alaska's Arctic Reserve to the oil and gas industry, pushing species like polar bears and ice seals to the brink of oblivion.

With the planet warming all too quickly, polar bears and ice seals are just the tip of the iceberg — more than a million species will be at risk of extinction in the coming years.

Expanding Arctic drilling is yet another front on the administration's attacks against wildlife.

When they rewrote the rules of the Endangered Species Act, anti-wildlife politicians made it harder for defenders of vulnerable animals and plants to protect their habitat — a gift to Big Oil.

Now those politicians and the profiteering forces behind them, busily pretending a climate crisis doesn't exist, are leaving imperiled species entirely without protection or denying it to them through life-threatening delays.

So we're in court to keep the Act in place as a crucial lifeline for biodiversity — to stop it from being reduced to a mechanism for allowing private interests to plunder our public lands and drive our native wildlife extinct.

At least 47 species have winked out while waiting for protection, and unless we act now, that number will go far, far higher.

This is a defining moment — not just for polar bears and ice seals, but in our fight to save life on Earth.
