Where does your congressman stand on impeachment?

Good morning,

Here is today's Texas Minute.

The U.S. House is slated to take up votes on impeachment. This disgusting display of partisanship by the do-nothing Democrat majority is built on their hatred of a president who is delivering on his promises to the American people.

Does your incumbent Member of Congress, the one who has been on your ballot, know where you stand on impeachment? Have you called this week? Regardless of party, every single U.S. House member from Texas needs to hear from their constituents. Call today: 202-224- 3121.

“This process has been fraudulent from the very beginning. It is an unprecedented, single-party, evidence-free impeachment – and it’s hurting the American people.” – U.S. Rep. Roger Williams [[link removed]] (R-Weatherford)

“The vote will be on Wednesday, despite what a Democratic scholar called the fastest, thinnest, weakest impeachment in U.S. history. That's the direction that we're going.” – U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe [[link removed]] (R-Heath)

An investigation into the Midland Independent School District’s bond election found even more ballots unaccounted for and a locked ballot box that officials cannot explain, leaving the community still looking for answers. Matt Stringer reports [[link removed]] a recount in late November found 820 fewer votes in the race than the number previously certified by the election’s office. Yet earlier in December, an entire ballot box was discovered.

Yesterday a judge ordered the mysterious new box to be opened, finding 836 ballots that had (possibly) been originally counted but (allegedly) subsequently misplaced in the recount. What. A. Zoo.

As a result of what can only charitably be called a botched election, the Midland ISD board tabled plans to sell bonds — all but killing their debt-financed spending plans for now.

A Bexar County court has blocked San Antonio’s “paid sick leave” ordinance as a violation of the Texas Constitution and the state’s minimum wage law. Attorney General Ken Paxton applauded [[link removed]] the decision saying, “Texans deserve the opportunity to work throughout our state. That is precisely why the Texas Constitution prohibits cities from ignoring the will of voters, and why I continue to fight to ensure the voters have the last say.” Number of the Day

Quote-Unquote

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

– C.S. Lewis
