That was a historic day. Cheri Beasley launched this campaign for Senate in North Carolina with a promise to reject corporate PAC money. We didn’t know what to expect, but we knew we had to run this campaign the right way — with people-power, not beholden to Washington special interests.

The response was immediate and overwhelming. Right after Cheri announced, Sonya, a teacher from Charlotte, chipped in $5. Then Catherine from Boone, a health care worker, made a $20 recurring contribution, and moments later, Anna, a social worker from Durham, gave $50...and we were off.
