I know, you weren’t expecting to get this email. I’m not happy to be sending it. I’m writing from 2024 to let you know you’d be making a terrible mistake by not donating to the NDRC before tomorrow's end-of-month deadline.
See, I’m from the future where you didn’t donate. And guess what – a lot of other folks didn’t either. So the NDRC didn’t have the resources to fight as hard as was necessary to elect Democracy Defenders and execute the rest of their 2022 strategy. That means Republicans won the election, which set them up to continue their attacks on our democracy unabated.
Fast forward two years. You won’t be surprised to learn that Trump ran for president again. But this time, his attempts to steal the election worked – because the Republicans who won races for governor, secretary of state, state auditor, and state legislature in 2022 overturned legitimate election results!
It’s a truly dystopian future. But there’s good news: You can still prevent it from happening!! That’s why I’m sending this email back in time, to beg you to make the right choice and donate to the NDRC before tomorrow's end-of-month deadline.
If you thought the 2020 election was pivotal, well, 2022 will be even more so. So please, make sure it turns out the way we want – with Democrats in place to protect our democracy against relentless Republican attacks.
