Trump administration plan to kick millions off food stamps is ‘cruel and arbitrary’
The Trump administration announced a plan this week to “tighten” the rules governing who qualifies for food stamps, a move that could take food off the tables of about 3 million people who are struggling to feed themselves and their families. This cruel and arbitrary proposal is part of the administration’s efforts to change the poverty threshold.

John Tanton, creator of anti-immigrant movement, is dead
John Tanton, the white nationalist architect of today’s anti-immigrant movement, died this week. The Michigan ophthalmologist founded more than a dozen organizations that pushed out demonizing propaganda about immigrants and worked to scuttle immigration reforms. The movement he created paved the way for President Trump’s immigration policies, and a number of far-right extremists from his network are now working in the administration.
