This year alone, there have been nearly 30,000 gun deaths in the United States.

Here in California we’re taking action to put an end to the violence – including through the use of “red flag” laws, which allow courts to temporarily remove firearms from people who are clearly at risk of harming themselves or others.

These laws help keep our communities safer. Last week, I visited San Diego, which has used these laws to great effect in gun violence prevention.
California is leading the country right now in taking action to end the cycle of violence – and we can’t afford an attorney general who isn’t all-in to continue this mission. But my opponent won’t state whether he’s committed to expanding our toolset in the mission to combat gun violence.
