Dear Friends,
Last night, shoppers at a Safeway in Bend were terrorized by a man who opened fire with an AR-15 style weapon — two people were killed, including a store employee who tried to stop him.
My heart hurts for the victims, for their loved ones, and for the entire Bend community.
Once again, a community is shattered by a senseless act of deadly violence. Once again, a community has to take up the task of healing from a preventable tragedy.
This has to stop. We all want this to be different.
As Governor, I will keep fighting to keep guns away from those who are likely to harm themselves or others. I will keep fighting to keep weapons of war out of the hands of teenagers. I know we can figure this out.
Let us send our love to the people of Bend today, and then, let’s keep fighting together.
Best,
Tina
