Poynter's 2023 Leadership Academies for Women in Media |
Apply by Friday, Sept. 9, 2022
Â
“Poynter's Leadership Academy for Women in Media made me feel motivated and empowered and most of all proud of myself for all that I had accomplished as a journalist," said Monica Richardson. "It also gave me the confidence to share that with others."
When Richardson participated in this program in 2018, she was senior managing editor at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Now, she is the first African American woman to serve as executive editor of the Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald. Her staff won a Pulitzer Prize for breaking news this year.
Our women's leadership academy has transformed the careers of more than 500 leaders in news media and tech, including Richardson's.
